Aug 22 U11A vs Avoca , Result: 1 - 0 Win
Today was another catch up game & our final game of the rounds before our bye next week then the semis the following week. We started the game off with some good passing but also some silly ones as well, we spent most of the first half in the AVO half but wasn't really putting any pressure on their keeper through some good defending from AVO & silly mistakes from us, then after about five corners Kev & Ben put on a smart play for Ben (left footer) to put the ball into the back of the AVO net, then not long after that it was half time. At the break I was asking the boys to hang in as a win will put them in first or second place for the semis. The second half was much the same as the first but no goals were scored, final score was a 1 nil win to us, this wasn't one of our better games & we need to play a lot better if we want to make it all the way this year. AVO coach gave their man of the match to Kevin. |
Aug 21 U11A vs Berkeley Vale , Result: 4 - 0 Win
Today we played Berkeley Vale at Frost in our second last game before the semis start. From the start of the game our boys were passing and moving off the ball well and playing a lot of the game in the BERK half, we were having shots at their goal and just missing the target, that’s until Nick and Dylan found the back of their net to take a 2 nil lead into the half time break. At the break I just asked the boys to keep up the good work. The second half starts the same as the first with our boys spending a lot of time in their half and again we were just missing the target, that’s until Calvin and Nick (second goal) find the back of their net to win the game 4 nil. Today’s win was a team effort and every player can hold their heads high. BERK coach gave their man of the match to Shane. |
Aug 14 U11A vs Budgewoi , Result: 2 - 2 Draw
Today we played against Budgewoi, and for the last 3 years games against them have always been close and today was no different. Again we have to do it with only 11 players as Dylan and Aaron are out sick. The game started off at a fast pace & once both teams sorted themselves out KIN had some scoring opportunities but wasn't putting them into the BUD net, then when BUD had a chance they scored, not long after that we finally put one of our chances into their net with Nick scoring, then the half time whistle blew. In the break I was asking the boys to put more effort into scoring goals. The second half starts the same as the first and again we are missing some scoring opportunities then BUD gets another chance and scores again, our boys keep their heads up and not long after we were awarded a dot shot for a hand ball in the box, Ben stepped up and calmly put the ball into the back of their net, then not long after that the full time whistle blew and the final score was a 2 all draw, for us that was a game of missed opportunities. BUD coach gave their man of the match to Yanni. |
Aug 08 U11A vs Berkeley Vale , Result: 4 - 0 Win
Today we play BERK in another one of our catch up games & what a difference a day makes, today we had our full squad not all at 100% as some are struggling with the flu but they all want to be there for each other & put yesterday’s game behind them. From the whistle our boys were dominating the game with their team work & passing game & about half way through the first half Nick scores a goal for us to take a one nil half time lead. At the half time break I ask the boys to just keep passing the ball around & get our touches right. When the second half starts we keep up the good work & score another three goals, two to Yanni & one to Dylan, BERK never gave up & tried all game but our boys just beat them to the ball most of the times, final score we win four nil. BERK coach gave their man of the match to Ben. |
Aug 07 U11A vs Southern Ettalong , Result: 0 - 3 Loss
Today we played SEU & we had no subs as Kevin & Yanni were both out sick, from the warm up the boys didn't look like they were focused which was a worrying sight as they have been playing some good soccer over the last couple of weeks. From the kick off SEU were all over us, we weren't talking, passing or doing any of the good stuff that we have been doing all year & it wasn't long before SEU scored their first goal, half time we are down 1 nil. At the break I try to explain to the boys that they have to stop relying on certain players to get the job done for them, this is a team sport & we need to start playing as a team. The second half starts & SEU are all over us again, they are passing the ball around & we are just watching them, when we do string a couple of passes together we look a lot better, but we don't do it enough & spend most of the game defending, our backs & keeper are doing a good job keeping SEU out for most of the second half but then they score another two quick goals to make it a 3 nil loss, if we want to compete in this competition we have to start playing as a team. Jul 25 U11A vs Woy Woy , Result: 3 - 0 Win
Today we played a catch up game against Woy Woy, our boys wanted to make sure they played well today after playing one of our best games yesterday. We started of by having our captain (Kevin) & vice captain (Ben) on the bench & moving some players into different positions, our guys start off knocking the ball around really well & are attacking Woy Woy at will, we keep getting into the Woy Woy danger zone with our great team work & switch of play, after 18 minutes I make our first change & put the subs into positions that they don't normally play in (this team is getting really good at adapting to changes), not long after being on the field Ben scores our first goal & we go to the half time break 1 nil up. At the half time break I tell the boys they are looking really good out there with their team work & to just keep it up. The second half starts & we take over the game again, even our backs think they are midfielders with their passing & runs down the lines, every KIN player is getting involved today & after a couple of near misses at goal we score another two goals, another one to Ben & one to Aaron, Woy Woy defended well today & never gave up, we have now played two good games back to back, but the secret is to keep it up for the rest of the season. WOY coach gave their man of the match to Calvin. |
Jul 24 U11A vs Killarney Vale , Result: 5 - 1 Win
Today we played Killarney Vale at sunny Frost, the last two times we played KDS we lost both games 1 nil so we knew we really needed to step up a gear for this game. I made some positional changes & got the boys fired up then sent them out there to face the mighty KDS team, in the first ten minutes we looked in a bit of trouble as KDS was attacking us at will & Isaac had to pull of a couple of saves to keep them scoreless, the boys seemed to get it together after that ten minutes & started to pass the ball around, then not long after that Kevin scored our first goal, then Jack scored, then KDS attacked us in our 18 yard box & one of their players was tripped over which resulted in a dot shot, lucky the ball was kicked right next to the post otherwise Isaac would have saved it, half time & we are up 3-1. At the half time break I ask the boys to keep attacking & not to let KDS score anymore. The second half starts & we get right back into it with some nice passing & some smart movement off the ball, then about half way into the second half we were awarded a dot shot & Dylan stepped up & put it into the back off the net, then our last goal came from Aaron, full time & we win 5-1. Every KIN player played great today as a team & deserved their win. KDS coach gave their man of the match to Nick. |
Jul 18 U11A vs Avoca , Result: 1 - 0 Win
Today we had a catch up game against AVO at Frost & our boys are keen to get back to back wins for the weekend. Before the game started I made some positional changes, right from the whistle the boys started the game off well with some nice passing & movement off the ball, we were spending a lot of time in the AVO half & was rewarded with a goal from Nick not long before halftime, the whistle blows for halftime & we are 1 nil up. At half time I made some more positional changes. The whistle blows for the second half & AVO have come out stronger & put some pressure on our backs, but our boys are doing well to hold them back so AVO don't really get any changes at our goal, this half seems a bit more even as our movement off the ball isn't really working this half (something to work on at training boys), fulltime score & we win 1 nil. AVO coach gave their man of the match to Kevin. |
Jul 17 U11A vs Woy Woy , Result: 2 - 0 Win
After no training at Frost for the last two weeks (field closed) it was good to get back on the park. Today we played Woy Woy at their field & I decided to sub the players who don't come off that much & test the fitness of our other players. The whistle blew to start the game & it wasn't long before we started to hand over possession of the ball & Woy Woy were attacking us, but Tyson, Ben & Shane was doing well to stop everything coming their way, Dylan was also doing well in attack, while Kevin & Nick was off I was explaining to them the new formation I wanted when they went on, after 18 minutes it was time for them to go on & see if they understood what I was talking about, they did & the rest of the boys lifted & started to hold the ball more & we had a couple of shots, one from Dylan looked like going in but was denied by a great save from their keeper, the whistle blows for half time & it's nil all. At the half time break I was explaining to the rest of the team what they need to do so the new formation works as I wanted to stay with that formation for the rest of the game. The whistle blows for the second half & we seem to be controlling the game a bit better & it wasn't long before Nick puts one over their keepers head to put us in front, not long after that Nick does the same & scores another goal, even though I changed some things around today which the boys weren't used to they kept their heads in the game with our backs leading the way, Woy Woy can hold their heads high as they have improved a lot from the first time we played them, final score we win 2-0. WOY coach gave their man of the match to Ben. |
Jul 04 U11A vs Killarney Vale , Result: 0 - 1 Loss
Today’s game was a catch up game against the top of the table KDS & KIN teams, both teams knew it would be a hard low scoring game. From the start it was a fast passed game with skill you wouldn't normally see from U11 year olds, KDS probably had the better start but our backs were keeping them away from our goals, as the game went on it became an even game with both teams not really having any good chances to score as it was played in the middle of the park, at the half time break it was nil all. During the half time break we changed some things around & spoke about what we need to fix up. The second half starts & its just as fast as the first with both teams looking good with the ball movement & team work, then KDS has a shoot on the edge of our 18 yard box & it hits one of their players in the chest / shoulder area & goes into the back of our net, the KIN boys don't let that worry them & keep playing good football & finished the stronger team at the end, we were unlucky not to even the score up but KDS are a very good team & you need to be on top for the whole game to beat them, final score KDS wins 1 nil, I was very proud of the KIN boys today they really stepped up a gear for this game today & proved to everyone that they are one of the top teams in the 11A competition. KDS coach gave their man of the match to Kevin. |

Jun 19 U11A vs Budgewoi , Result: 2 - 1 Win
Today we played BUD at a sunny Frost reserve, this was always going to a hard game as BUD wouldn't be happy with their 4-1 first round loss to us at their ground. Before the game I give the boys the same instructions as I do for every game, pass the ball around & the goals will follow. Straight from the kick off our boys are looking good passing the ball around & it wasn't long before we score our first goal by Aaron, then not long after that Aaron scores another goal, we keep most of the possession in the first half & take a two nil led into half time. At the half time break I warned the boys that BUD will come out very aggressive & try & shut down everything we do. The second half starts & straight away BUD are right in our faces letting us know that we will be in for a hard game, this half the game is getting scrappy with some sloppy challenges & aggression that is starting to go a bit to far, but the ref allows it so that’s how all the players think they can play, then mid way through the second half BUD makes a break & a ball goes across our goal to an unmarked player who scores a goal, that lifts the BUD team & makes our backs play to their full potential & they hold out the BUD team from scoring again, BUD was lucky to have a full team on the park at the end of the game, fulltime we win 2-1. BUD coach gave their man of the match to Shane. |
Jun 12 U11A vs Southern Ettalong , Result: 1 - 1 Draw
Well after 4 weeks off with the bye & washed out games we finally get to play a game, it was an away game at SEU. At the start of the game I asked the boys to keep possession of the ball & hopefully SEU will make some mistakes & we will score some goals, well the first part was working with the boys playing a good passing & possession game but SEU wasn't making any mistakes & everytime they did get the ball they just kicked it 50 metres back down the field so we would have to start all over again, with no real chances from both teams the half time whistle blew & it was nil all. At the half time talk I asked the boys to just keep playing the way they are & some goals will come our way. The second half starts & again it's the same as the first, then the first time SEU got in our 18 yard box they some how scored a goal from some scrappy play which I couldn't really see what happened, that didn't seem to worry our boys & they kept playing some nice football, then finally we catch the SEU backs out with a nice through ball & Aaron scores to level the scores up & that's the way the score stayed a 1 all draw. SEU coach gave their man of the match to Kevin. |

May 09 U11A vs Avoca , Result: 2 - 0 Win
Today (Sunday) we played AVO, the 11A's played yesterday & today so they can fit all their games in for the year. The game started at a fast pace with KIN mainly dominating the play with their passing & moving off the ball, AVO has came out hard & all their players are determined to win every tackle, again we were getting the ball in their box but just not putting it in the back of their net, that was until Kevin decided to have a right footed shoot outside the box which went over the keepers head & into the goals, we had a couple more chances but they just didn't go in, our keeper did get a couple of touches but no real danger so our backs are doing a good job again, half time & we are 1 nil up. The half time talk is to just keep passing the ball around & don't back off. The second half starts the same as the first & it wasn't long before we start getting some penalty’s for some of the tackles that AVO were doing, then we get one about 30 meters out so Ben steps up to take it, he backs himself & has the shoot & it goes straight into the back of the net, but the ref says NO as a AVO player stepped inside the ten meter gap (strange) so Ben does the same thing the second time & this time it counted, our keeper had to work a bit more in the second half & AVO was unlucky not to score as one of their shots looked like going in but Shane was in the right spot at the right time & smashed it away before it went over the line, AVO really stepped up today in this local derby, now we have to lift our game for round two, final score we win two nil. AVO coach gave their man of the match to Nick. |
May 07 U11A vs Berkeley Vale , Result: 5 - 0 Win
Today we played at a sunny Frost reserve, no Tyson today who has a dodgy back but he comes down & watches to support his mates, the game plan is simple "keep possession of the ball & the goals will follow". The game is kicked off & our midfield are playing well with their passing & moving off the ball, we are putting plenty of quality balls into the BER danger zone but don't seem to finding the back of their net, then finally late into the first half a nice ball goes through & Yanni scores the goal, our backs are playing well & stopping everything that gets in our half, our keeper Isaac doesn’t touch the ball at all in the first half, half time & we are leading one nil. At the half time break we make some positional changes. Second half starts & it wasn't long before those changes start scoring goals, Kevin puts one in, then not long after that Kevin scores another goal, I make more positional changes, then Dylan & Jack score one each, our keeper in the second half Ryan doesn't touch the ball so again our backs done their job. The boys played well today, even after making plenty of positional changes they kept to the game plan & played as a team, the BER team never gave up & tried all game, they just came up against a KIN team that put it together on the day. BER coach gave their man of the match to Ben. |
May 01 U11A vs Budgewoi , Result: 4 - 1 Win
Today we played BUD at their field, most of the BUD team from last year has moved onto rep teams so we didn't know much about this team.
From the start of the game it was played at both ends, with our backs stopping most balls going to our keeper, we had more shots but couldn't put the ball in their net which probably had something to do with NOT playing to our game plan, half time & it's nil all.
At the half time break I ask the boys to go back to the game plan & stick to it then the goals will follow.The second half starts & we seem to be going a bit better & it wasn't long before Kevin gets onto a goal kick gone wrong & scores our first goal, Kevin scores another goal after a BUD makes a mistake clearing the ball inside their box, then Dylan scores one when BUD couldn't clear a corner out of their box, then Aaron scores one when he had a one on one with their keeper, but to BUD's credit they never gave up & had a couple of chances before they did score a goal. The match was a bit scrappy today, the field conditions & referring didn't help, final score was a 4-1 win. BUD coach gave their man of the match to Kevin.

Apr 24 U11A vs Southern Ettalong , Result: 4 - 0 Win
Today we played SEU at Kincumber, I was hoping that our boys were focused today as SEU are a very good team and all our player needs to do their job to get a win today. From the kick off you could tell that this was going to be a good game to watch, both teams were passing the ball around & creating chances for their teams, then about mid way through the first half a ball was put through for Kevin who was one on one with the keeper, Kevin puts the ball in their net for us to take a 1 nil lead, SEU wasn't letting that get to them as they kept coming at us & was making Isaac work in goals, half time & we are up 1 nil. Half time talk I ask the boys to keep playing the same way but change a couple of little things, one of those changes was to put Ryan in goals & give Isaac a run on the field. Second half starts much the same as the first with both teams passing the ball around, but those little changes at half time seem to be working as we now spend more time in their half & it wasn't long before Yanni scores a goal, SEU still don't give in but our backs Ben, Tyson, Daniel & Shane are keeping them mostly around the half way area, our midfield of Jack, Nick, Kevin & Dylan are now controlling the game with their passing, our forwards Aaron & Yanni are getting in the right position to help our midfield, Calvin & Isaac are helping the mids & forwards as well. With more possession we had more chances & with that Kevin & Yanni score another goal each for us to be up 4 nil, SEU were unlucky not to put a goal in as they hit the cross bar with their shot, the score probably didn't reflect the game that was played as SEU played better then the score showed. Apr 17 U11A vs Killarney Vale , Result: 0 - 1 Loss
Well what a difference a week makes. Today we played KDS at Frost & from the whistle we were out played & out muscled with KDS nearly scoring a goal in the first minute, then a couple of minutes they did score their goal, for the first fifteen minutes we were scrambling all over the field just chasing the ball instead of playing our own game, then in the last ten minutes of the first half we seemed to settle down & started passing the ball, half time comes & we are down 1 nil. The half time talk is telling the boys to believe in themselves & play the game they know they can play. Our second half was better & we had more possession which meant KDS was doing most of the defending, we had a couple of good chances in the second half but couldn't find the back of their net, I think KDS are a better team than last year, we now need to step up to that level. KDS coach gave their man of the match to Aaron. |
Apr 10 U11A vs Woy Woy , Result: 3 - 0 Win
Today our first game of the year was played at Woy Woy, Jack was on the sideline with a broken arm & Dylan lasted 5 minutes with cuts to his toes, this left us with no subs but the boys didn't care as they consider themselves fit. From the kick off our boys looked like they didn't have an off season with great passing & team work, in the first half we had many chances but kept getting pulled up for offside, then just before half time Kevin puts a goal into their net. At the half time break I just asked the boys to keep playing the same way. The second half started the same as the first with some nice passing, it wasn't long before Kevin scores another goal then the third came from some smart work between Kevin & Ben, with Ben scoring the goal. The whole team played well with Isaac in goals & right mid, Ben & Daniel at centre back, Tyson at left back, Shane at right back, Nick at left mid, Kevin & Calvin at centre mid, Ryan at right mid & keeper, Aaron & Yanni up front. Mention must also go to Woy Woy who came up from the 10B's into the 11A's, their team never gave up & played the game fair, good luck with the remainder of the season.
