| Aug 07 U13C vs Gwandalan , Result: 1 - 7 Loss Big thank you to everyone for getting to our early photo shoot on a cold morning. Despite a strong all round effort from roos today we were beaten by a dtermined qwandalan team. Jake as usual made some great saves in goal and Montana deserved her player of the match with some strong kicks from the back. Unfortunately gwandalan had us at 4 -1 at half time. Tom, Heleina and kye ran themselves ragged with great spirit til the full time whistle. Full credit to the roos for keeping up the fight against a stronger team on the day. Next week game at Terrigal 1.30 kick off. |
| Jul 17 U13C vs Avoca , Result: 2 - 4 Loss Finally a beautiful day to play football. We got off to a great start with a quick goal after 10 minutes but Avoca came back strong and equalised soon there after. Rest of the first half very exiting game and good football from both sides with a score of 1 all at halftime. With words of wisdom from Nelson we took the field with a new found purpose. Once again we quickly got another goal after 5 minutes and not to be outdone Avoca came back 4 minutes later and the score was level at 2 all. Last 15 minutes was a bit disappointing and our lack of match fitness showed as Avoca came back strongly and desevered to win 4-2. Overall very good game and everyone gave 110% which is all we could ask for. Player of the match was Alex as he never stopped. Need to do some more fitness work (yes I can hear the sigh) so that we can last the whole 60 minutes. C u at training on Thursday cheers Dave........ | Jun 19 U13C vs Terrigal2 , Result: 3 - 1 Win Welcome back to Jake as goalie and Josh up front . And welcome to some new faces with Antonio and Montana joining the team. It was great to have a full turn out for a sunny game at Terrigal. Brendan was enthusiastic and strong up front and helped out with a reliable midfield with Kye and Montana-we had a useful 1st goal which Terrigal responded to quickly making it 1 all at half time. After a pep talk from the coach Ashley scored 2 goals in the second half with a near miss from Josh hitting the goalposts. Our backs Luke,and Alec and Rafael fought off some attacks from Terrigal. Jake saved multiple strong attempts on goal-great work! .And as usual Helaina worked hard throughout the game in midfield. looking forward to next game! |
| May 15 U13C vs Wyoming , Result: 1 - 5 Loss Game started off a bit slow for the roos, We kept losing possesion of the ball and Wyoming made the most of these opportunities, some good saves by Brendan in goals for the first half and Alec in the second half, Some good work by the backs but we couldn't keep Wyoming out.Thank you Jared from the 13D's for helping us out. Brendan scored our only goal and was awarded Player of the match. Training 6.00pm thurs see you there. |
| May 08 U13C vs Doyalson , Result: 5 - 5 Draw We started well considering we only had 10 players for the whole game.Goalkeepers on both sides had plenty of contact with the ball.Doyalson scored the first goal and this was qickly followed by an equaliser by Alec,Doyalson quickly scored 2 more goals and we went into halftime down 3-1, A quick peptalk by supercoach Nelson had the team ready for more, Two quick goals by Helaina score was 3-3. Doyalson were not going to let that happen and qickly scored (4-3) a few missed chances but we soon had the score at 4-4,(good shot Tom) pressure was on and Doylo scored again! With a minute to go both sides were not giving up and Brendan managed to score the last goal with about 10 seconds to spare final result draw 5-5. We couldn't have got this result without the good teamwork from all of the players,all of the team held positions well, the backs cleared the ball from the goal area really well,forwards were ready when the ball came their way and excellent work by the midfield. | May 01 U13C vs Avoca , Result: 1 - 4 Loss Great game again today from the guys. Avoca came out strong in the first half as expected and posted 2 goals before halftime. After a few quiet words from Nelson at halftime and some changes in the field, we came out firing in the second half. Avoca regained their composure after a very length of the field battle for the first 10 minutes and posted their third goal. With some great passing between Helaina, Ashley, Tom and Brendan, Tom had a shot at goal only to denied by a great save from the Avoca goalie. But being "Johnny on the spot", Brendan cleaned up the crumbs and scored our first goal after some great team work. Excellent defensive effort from Rafael, Emma and Kye. Alex and Matthew had a great game in the midfield. Special thankyou to Dylan and Emma for backing up after playing their own game. Also great effort from our backup goalies Alec and Brendan. Very hard to pick a player of the match today, could of been any of 6 players. Congradulations to Helaina for her great work, never stopping and being involved in plenty of play. Avoca played a great game and certainly deserved to win. Overall a very pleasing effort from everyone considering we have not played for 2 weeks. Might need to work on our fitness a bit more so that we last the whole 60 minutes. Well done see you Thursday. Dave....... |
| Apr 10 U13C vs Kariong , Result: 3 - 3 Draw Great first game of the season! Thanks to Dylan and Sam from 13d for helping us make up a full team and putting in a great effort for their 2nd game of the day. Kariong came out strong and quickly scored as the roos fine tuned positions. Half time whistle saw the score at 3-1 against us. Despite kariong having plenty of subs, our fitness paid off in the 2nd half in which the roos dominated. Helaina, Brendan and Josh played strong up front-and Kye showed off his speed in mid field, along with some excellent foot work from Ashley. Rafael and luke put in a steady defence and Jake saved more goals than got passed him.Josh scored two goals and Matthew and Brendan scored the 3rd,in the final minutes. Thanks to the coaches-who also manned BBQ for canteen duty,with Kris Felton in shop. See you all at training 6-7 thurs. |
