Jul 04 W12A vs Woy Woy , Result: 1 - 1 Draw Great game today girls against the competion leaders. We were down to one reserve but came out hungary. Both sides were giving their all. This showed with the score nil all at half time. Woy Woy managed to slot one in after a long break which we failed to cover up. The Roos put the equalizer in and this brought the home crowd to its feet. Woy Woy had a chance late in the game to win with a penalty on the spot, but a great save saw the game finish up a draw. Player of the Match went to Olivia Bayliss who denied the attack with her great defence all game. |
Jun 27 W12A vs Wyoming , Result: 1 - 1 Draw Great game today girls, a good hard fought match that was an even contest throughout. The play was end to end stuff with Wyoming snagging a goal off a dodgy throw in call which caught us out. 1 nil at half time and all was not lost. Second half we came out firing determined to peg back the score. We had plenty of chances on goal which should have seen us win convincingly but not to be. A late penalty in the box saw us level up the score with still more thrilling attempts on goal. Player of the match was Jordia with her defensive efforts repelling raid after raid. |
Jun 20 W12A vs Avoca , Result: 0 - 0 Draw Hi guys, could just about use last weeks report for this weeks report. Avoca had plenty to play for after last weeks 2 nil loss and they were prepared not to concede any goals today. Again the Roos turn on the pressure from the start and was all action only at one end of the field. I think our goalies did not touch the ball for the whole game. Half time and the score was nil all. Scoring was proving difficult as we had to contend with an 8 man(women)defensive line that prove to difficult to slot anything into the back of the net. Today wasn't our day with numerous chances slipping bye. The score remained nil all and it was great to see nobody gave up. Player of the match went to Kirsty George who ran her heart out to set up plenty of chances for a win. |
Jun 14 W12A vs Avoca , Result: 2 - 0 Win With the cobwebs blown out from yesterdays game, this was going to be entertaining match with neighbourly rivals Avoca. Our guys applied the pressure button from the whistle and never gave Avoca a chance as we were constantly camped down their end and in the box. numerous attempts on goals failed and the frustration could be heard. Nil all at half time and the talk did the trick. A few positional swaps and the pressure was back on. We manged to slot in 2 in quick succession to deflate the opposition and wind down the clock. A good hitout for the weekend. Player of the match was Georgia Lee utilising her pace up front to create plenty attacking raids. |
Jun 13 W12A vs East Gosford , Result: 1 - 0 Win Been a while since we last played and this showed through on the field for both sides I think. The game was end to end stuff without any side taking real authority, but was entertaining to watch even with a cool breeze blowing. This showed in the scoreline and it wasn't till late in the game the Roos were able to convert a late penalty on the spot to give us a 1 nil win. Player of the match was Keely Pullen who entertained us with her massive boot and got us home. |
May 23 W12A vs Wyoming , Result: 1 - 2 Loss Unlucky game today girls. A few elements against us. Taking the field with 10 players is always going to be tough, especially in the wet conditions. We played our usual game plan and just needed the bounce of the ball to go our way, plus a couple of decision from the man in the middle going against us. Down 1 nil at half time but all was not lost as our 11th player was on the way. We were soon 2 nil down after half time through a lack of concentration. You all done really well to cover up for being short and this showed when when we were able to come back with a goal to give ourselves a chance. Not to be but not without that fighting spirit. Emma Jackson took out this weeks player of the match with her tireless effort up front to keep us in the hunt. |
May 16 W12A vs East Gosford , Result: 2 - 0 Win Another good win today girls, well done. Score was 2 nil, but we spent enough time in their half/box to make it 22 nil. A great effort all round with no weakness. Solid positional play is allowing us to play a good passing game which is leading to plenty of attack. The backs had some work to do and were strong in repelling the limited attack they were confronted with. Our big mid field done an exceptional job in feeding our hungry forwards. Great game from all with Ariel taking out Best & Fairest for the second time this year. |
May 09 W12A vs Terrigal , Result: 2 - 1 Win Well girls, what a great win today, we have come along way since our first game against Terrigal. We completely turned around the 1st round result. It was a pleasure to watch and the positional play all over the park was great to see. The mid field provided heaps of opportunities for our forwards with many chances just failing. The Roos kept the pressure on but still could not convert anything. First score went via Terrigal's way with a bit of defensive mix up in front of our goal. This was their only real scoring chance all game and they took it. The Roos kept their heads up though and came back with the leveller soon after and it was game on. Our defensive line was superb with plenty of encouragement from the sidelines to pressure their forwards. The Roos managed to slot another just before half time and I think this shocked Terrigal who were looking to go to the top of the table with a win. After the break we just kept building on our first half with again missed scoring chances. Terrigal is a good side and they showed this by keeping us scoreless in the 2nd half. The game finished 2-1 with the ever consistant Phoebe taking out the Best & Fairest with her great display up and down the middle of the park. |
May 02 W12A vs Woy Woy , Result: 0 - 5 Loss Well girls, another tough early game this morning, you put up a great fight and we held our own for the first 15 minutes and looked to be anyone's game with attack following from end to end. Our line was eventually broken and unfortunatley things do come in 3's and we found ourselves down by this at half time. We kept our chins up and came out charging in the 2nd half, plenty of attack but just could not convert any chances, Woy Woy were to good on the day and ran out 5 nil winners. Best & Fairest was Ellie, a great game from our little bulldog who was at the heals of everyone. |
Apr 26 W12A vs Wyoming , Result: 0 - 3 Loss Well girls, a slow start this morning, it looked like we were all still asleep and that showed in our performance on the field today. We started off well enough with plenty attack going our way but Wyoming's goalie was too good and kept us at bay. We were 1 down going into the break with things looking even. The half time talk seem to pick us up a little bit but decisions were not going our way today and we soon found ourselves 2 down. We tried hard to work ourselves back into the game a bit a late goal made the task to hard. Great effort girls and something to work on for the future. Great game in defence from Carys saw her take out the Best & Fairest for this week. |
Apr 21 W12A vs Avoca , Result: 5 - 1 Win Another good performance tonight girls, conditions were tricky under lights for the first time for most and along with a slippery dew surface there was going to be some action. Plenty of pressure right from the start which was good to see. Not much action for our goalie as the defensive line was good. The mid field provided the forwards with plenty of ball for many attempts on goal but Avoca's goalie was up to the task and we went into the break with a 3 nil lead which could have been more. A few positional changes after oranges saw some mix ups which led to Avoca's only goal of the night. This spurred the girls back into action who than responded with another 2 goals to finished the night off with a 5-1 win. Great defence from Ariel with her huge left boot, was than rewarded with a run up front to take out tonight's Best & Fairest. |
Apr 18 W12A vs East Gosford , Result: 3 - 1 Win Well what a difference a week makes girls. Today was a pleasure to watch. The game was jam packed with skill from all of you. Your passing game was spot on. This led to numerous chances for our forwards to have a crack at goals. We soon led 1 nil and could have been more but for several missed chances. East Gosford to there credit did not give up and bounced back to level the scores going into the break. With a breather under our belts we came out firing in the second half to go on with it with the backs setting a good example of defence to enable our powerful mid field letting our forwards to bag another 2 goals for a great 3-1 win. Best& Fairest went to Rebekka for her great role in defending at the back. |
Apr 11 W12A vs Terrigal , Result: 1 - 6 Loss Tough first up game today girls. Terrigal played well for the win. All the girls played well considering the heat. We showed glimpe's of what we can do and this is something to work on at training. We might have suffered as we were rotating our subs to the 14's throughout the game, but under the circumstances it was a great all round effort. Great game from Naomi who was goalie first half looking into the sun and out in the field 2nd half to be our first Best & Fairest player of the match of the year. |
