Aug 08 W16A vs Woy Woy , Result: 2 - 1 Win With quite a lot of players sick or away for whatever the reason...... we managed to get 10 players to start the game with the help of our subs, Beth, Scotty & Jessika. Settled in to play and some good movement and passing gave Maia the chance to score which got us on the board and a good start... but Woy Woy bounced back 5 mins later to equalise. The run of play was pretty even from both teams considering we were down one player on the field. Second half and the girls were getting some 1-2 passing happening and Emily & Maia worked the ball together up the side and Emily finishes off with a great goal from excellant leadup work and field play. Approx 15 mins into the second half Scotty had to leave for work... so we were now down to 8 on the field but with Zoe & Jess sharing the goal keeper duties they both kept things tidy in that department. But we managed to hold Woy Woy till till the finish without either team scoring again. This was a well deserved win and a very good effort from "ALL" those who played.

Jul 18 W16A vs Bye , Result: 0 - 0 Bye Round 16 was a BYE..... |
Jul 04 W16A vs Toukley , Result: 3 - 1 Win Home game and an early start at Frost but with only 7 players turning up ready with 15 mins prior it did not set things up for a good start with everyone eventually arriving only mins before kickoff....Girls we MUST be at the game a minimum 30 mins before. Fortunately we kicked off a bit late and once under way both teams were making good passing moves and ballwork and after 15 mins Hutch hit a bullet shot that was going through the back of the net but the Toukley keeper did well to save it but persistence was rewarded not long after when Scotty played a another good shot but this time the ball spun out of the keepers hands back into the net to get us on the scoreboard. Then 1 minute into the second half Toukley found a big gap in our midfield and pushed straight through to quickly even the score at 1-1. Kinny then started to play better football and started to gain control and set up quite a few good plays which soon let Bianca burst through and slide an easy shot into the left corner and score. Further efforts came not long after when Zoe had a shot and the keeper miss handled the ball and again it rolled and twisted back into the net to score. Fulltime and a good effort by all after a ordinary start for a 3-1 win. We need to make sure our our passes and things will happen a lot easier for all of us as a team.

Jun 29 W16A vs Woy Woy , Result: 1 - 0 Win One of our catchup games and its very cold up at Mangrove Mtn this evening for our 6pm kickoff. With 3 players out tonight we had Brittney & Beth from the 15C backup to help us again. The game was very open with good passing and ball work from both teams. A few early chances were missed, then 12 mins into the game Shanaye plays a 50/50 with the keeper and goes down with an ankle injury. We are now down to 11 only with no subs. Jess & Zoe were doing great job in the midfield seting up good plays down the outside, and the backline Chels, Brioney & Beth we all working well together till finally Emily gets another running break down the outside, heads to goals, shoots and the keeper fumbles the ball and it luckily it rolls into the back of the net right on half time. Second half was much the same with end to end play from both teams. It was a good clean game and really could have gone either way.... but we managed to set up some really good passages of play through out the second half only to fail with the final execution shot, but we held on till the end to finish with a good gutsy 1-0 win. Everyone played well tonight, and our work rate and control across the park by all players was really good. Keep it up... we are playing much better football.

Jun 27 W16A vs Woy Woy , Result: 3 - 0 Win Early start away at Woy Woy and Maia & Zoe both away gave us only 1 sub with Beth help out again. A good start from both teams and Woy were straight on the attack making some good breaks down the line, but we bounce back and Vanessa pushes down the line comes in towards the 18 box and has a great long shot at goal only to come down off the bar onto the keepers body and into the back of the net...Great stuff and goal no "1" for Vanessa after 6 mins of play. We kept up our passing game and Emily's work rate was again making inroads and she was continually setting up some good passing moves but again we are unlucky... but we are playing a much better game than we have previously been playing and the results would eventually come. Abbey was making some good 1,2 passing out wide and this kept their defense under much pressure. Finally midway through the 2nd half Emily's efforts are rewarded and we jump to a 2-0 lead, then 4 mins from full time Shanaye scores an easy goal from some well deserved play ...starting right at the backline and making its way up front with everyone getting involved. This is the type of football we can play and it was one of the best games of late we have had where we move the ball around confidently. The game finshed with a good 3-0 win to Kinny. Keep it up girls, it was just great for all to watch. A deserved win.

Jun 20 W16A vs Killarney , Result: 0 - 3 Loss Away to Killarney and another game that always brings out the best from both team when we meet. We had a few chances early but our shots were just wide as did Killarney but their shots were on target and thankfully Maia was holding the scoreboard to nil. Second half and Killarney pop an early goal then 10 mins later they take a corner and it unfortunately comes off Abbey for an own goal.... (thats 2 in 2 weeks...Abbey....oh well) We made quite a few good passages of play with Kinny taking the ball right down to the byline and crossing back to shoot but luck was not on our side and Killarney were playing the better football and kept a solid defence stopping any shots from getting through. Then 10 mins from full time and we are caught to far up and they score again. Luckily Maia was having a good game or the result may have been worse. A game where chances had to be finished when opportunities came.

Jun 14 W16A vs Kanwal , Result: 1 - 2 Loss Back again against the leaders Kanwal and with some home support we were ready to continue from yesterdays match. The game was immediatley end to end with shots from both teams. Then the Kinny midfield pushed up through the middle to Emma who tries to get into a scoring position but the defence held Emma up and she turns and passes back to Jamiee who fired it straight back in to score a great goal after 6 mins of play. Kanwal kept making some good break bown the line but our sub keeper Scotty was doing a great job in keeping them scoreless until 10 mins into the second half Kanwal finally broke through and equalised. This was a good clean game from both teams, and our Emily was doing an exceptional amount of work rate running and kept creating havoc for the Kanwal defenders all game... but then 10 mins from fulltime Kanwal had a shot at goal and catches Scotty unprepared to slip pass and they are back in the lead 2-1 and once again time runs out and we nearly got over the line. A good effort from everyone today backing up from yesterdays game. Keep at it Kinny...your playing with more confidence and passion.

Jun 13 W16A vs Kanwal , Result: 2 - 3 Loss Finally we get to play after all the rain and 3 weeks break against the competition leaders Kanwal. We did not start too well and Kanwal took advantage after 10 mins with some poor defence and Kanwal score. With made a few challenges at goal but our passing was letting us down and it wasn't long and we are now down 2 goals. Into the 2nd half and Kanwal take a corner and it deflects off Kincumber into the back of the net to give them a 3 -0 lead but we knew we could play better and soon the game finally started to turn our way and the Kincumber spirit was starting to shine through but many shots were just missing until we received a free kick and Shanaye sends it in over the keepers head from 20 yards out to score....3-1 its now the Kincumber girls are starting to believe themselves and 7 mins later a good pass up to Shanaye inside the 18 box lets her turn and shoot and score again. We now getting ourselves back in the game and its all Kinny.... but the clock once again beats us and we loose 3-2 (by a own goal) Great 2nd half by the team.... lets keep that belief going again tomorrow as we play Kanwal again in the double header weekend. A very good team effort Kinny!!

May 16 W16A vs Killarney , Result: 2 - 1 Win This was a game we needed to win to stay in touch with the leaders of the comp Kanwal.... and with play going end to end finally after 15 mins Emaily got the break to slot a nice goal and take the lead. Killarney as usual bounced back with a strong attack but we held them scoreless till half time. Then an early goal 5 mins into the 2nd half by Killarney and scores were equal again until Killarney gave away a penalty in the box and Jaimee made sure of it and sent it down into the left corner of the net and its game on again and wereback in front. With intensity building the tackles were getting harder from both teams but time ran out and we held them out for a good 2-1 win. Well done girls...... a good effort against a strong opposition team.
Player of the Match: Zoe Davis |
May 09 W16A vs Bye , Result: 0 - 0 Bye Round 6 was a BYE..... |
May 02 W16A vs Toukley , Result: 0 - 1 Loss Well this game was one to best to forget. We did eveything with good lead up work and passing between players but we could not find the back of the net....but not from lack of trying. Unfortunately we conceded a free kick to Toukley in the second half and a good kick into the sun saw the ball drop in under the bar and score. We again kept attacking as did Toukley with both teams putting in a good effort, but time ran out and a 1-0 loss result recorded.
Player of the Match: Emma Kronja |
Apr 28 W16A vs Kanwal , Result: 0 - 3 Loss Our first night game of the comp against Kanwal. We all started off great and took control moving the ball around very well and got into some good goal scoring opportunities but failing to finish and then Kanwal wasted no time to break through the middle and slip one into the corner of goals after 10 mins, followed not long after with another break but Chelsea quickly kicked it clear. On the attack and Jayde received a good ball up front only to have the keeper block the shot and the score remained as is. Second half and we are continueing to press their defence continually with shots missing the target and then Kanwal break though but didn't miss and were down 2 goals. then about 5 mins later Shanaye turns and hits a solid shot and its going to score only for the keeper to full stretch and deflect over the bar. Great save by the Kanwal keeper. The full moon was working its hoodoo very well as we just could not score for all the possesion we had and then 10mins from full time Kanwal get an easy goal in the dewy conditions and its all over....well done to Kanwal. It really was a good effort from everyone considering the niggling injuries some girls are carrying and the amount of posession we had but we just couldn't hit the net when it was needed. Need to work on finishing a lot more.

Apr 26 W16A vs Woy Woy , Result: 3 - 1 Win Monday game due to Anzac Day holiday and we are away at Woy Woy.Game started off quickly straight onto the attack and Emily breaks away to shoot a long ball in and deflects off the right post into the net after 3 mins of play. Woy bounce back and Brioney makes a great save in goals to push the ball over the bar. Good play from both teams was displayed but no further goals scored in the 1st half. Woy get the jump early and catch us out of position and an easy goal is scored, then 6 mins into the second half Emily is on fire again and strikes a good low shot down the left side leaving the keeper no chance and into the back of the net. We are all playing better as the game progressed with good breaks up the middle many times which was good to see. Zoe works the ball in from the side and cracked a great shot only but for the Woy keeper making a very good save....but only to be rewarded with a goal just before the whistle blew with a nice pass or shot...not sure about that and game ends 3-1 win to the Roos. Much better performance from everyone today.
Player of the Match: Emily Smith |
Apr 18 W16A vs Killarney , Result: 0 - 3 Loss First time we have nearly all got to play together this season....So as usual the KDS v KIN games are always competitve and Killarney started with an easy early goal catching our defence too far out. Good hard play and a few shots at goal from both teams and then another KDS goal 10 mins from half time saw the tempo pickup another gear but we missed some easy shots on goal that we would normally put away only to go in 2 down at half time. Second half much the same as the first until KDS dropped one in under the crossbar from out deep and the score is slipping away but the Kinny spirit was still there and all the girls gave there best but unfortunately it just was not going to happen today and we let this game slip away even though we had the better second half of play. Once we get to know each others style of play and movements better things will come together. We need more urgency to the ball which we will address but in all a good effort from everyone. Next game is a trial on Thursday arvo....see you all there.
